ROSKILDE
Dispensable Worthwhile Very recommendable Marvel

Village located 1 h. far by train from Copenhagen. I emphasize tow spots.

First, the Viking ships museum , near the sea. You can visit and learn many things about this legendary civilization that are even supposed by some people to reach America thanks to the robust and strong ships they constructed, that allowed them to move through huge distances. In the museum you will contemplate the rests of some authentic Viking ships and outside of the museum you can see how the ships were like, because they construct hand copies for tourists to sail across the sea.

cathedral of Roskilde

The other interesting pot is the gothic cathedral where the Danish kings are buried. It was closed when we arrived in the afternoon. The village was almost empty at this time, so we didn't appreciate much the life of this village.
It is very famous the Roskilde festival, the biggest music festival in North Europe.
You can visit the village in half a day. We relaxed on our return to Copenhagen, enjoying from the train the completely plain and wild landscape that covers Denmark. Every train you take offers these nice landscapes, as Denmark is a territory with regions of very low population density. For that reason if you decide to visit Denmark for some time, consider renting a car to reach those landscapes in a complete solitude.
