BLACK FOREST
Dispensable Worthwhile Very recommendable Marvel

If you love walking, the nature and the landscapes don't miss an excursion to the Black Forest. In order to reach it we took a bus from Freiburg that carried us across nice and authentic roads in the middle of the lush forest.

We decided to visit the highest waterfalls in Germany, a 162 m. Descent in 7 successive waterfalls . They are covered with a short walk that goes down next to a weak stream that grows to become the high waterfalls. Lovely panorama over the valley and the forest. This excursion allowed us a parenthesis after so much civilisation. One is grateful when walking with no worry, but admire the marvellous surrounding views.
Once we arrived to the bottom there is a village where we took a bus towards the close Titisee lake . It is a summer holidays place for the Germans but when we arrived in the afternoon it was quite empty.

We didn't stay much and we got in the train to go to Hinterzarten , with the aim to see how the Black Forest villages are. It was pleasant and with green surroundings, but we expected something more picturesque. Close to the village there is a ski jumping ramp. From here we went back to Freiburg by train.

It was a pity not visiting Triberg, a village situated in the middle of the forest and that was highly recommended to us because it is very picturesque and very famous thanks to its cuckoo clocks. However, the tourist office assured us that there was no train to the village, affirmation that we checked false, but too late.
