This coastline is an unknown region but absolutely spectacular. It is a mountainous chain that precipitates sharply into a crystalline turquoise sea. Visit Positano , a colourful and romantic village, hung from the slopes and with a wonderful beach of magnificent colours.
This coastline can only be reached by road. The bus arrives from Sorrento in less than an hour. There are some bends that it seems that the bus is going to fall and the views along the road are impacting.

We decided to come here when we met an American and an Ecuadorian and we were talking for a while during the ascension to the cathedral dome. They advised us well about this spot. |

Relax your bodies and have a bath. The beach has pebbles instead of sand, and it burns when you touch with the nude skin, so you can’t walk barefoot. The worst of all is to return until the bus stop, located at the top of the village, but it is rewarded with incredible sightseeing. |

Try to inform about the bus timetables as the frequency is not that high. And be careful because the return tickets must be obtained in a pub at the lower part of the village, instead of at the bus stop. It was really amusing to go up twice the steep slope under the strong sun.
The Amalfi coastline is very long, and there are numerous villages. The best way to enjoy it with enough time may be to rent a car for the entire day and drive through it.
On our way back to Naples we stopped at Sorrento to have dinner. It is a pleasant village nearby Naples, very lively at dusk, full of tourists, where you can sit down and taste an Italian meal in a terrace with candles on the tables and afterwards to pull down the food with an ice-cream while you walk, you go shopping or you look at the street performers. It was a pity to know this late, because it seems a great place to accommodate and enjoy the night instead of Naples. I imagine that it must be difficult to find accommodation here during high season. The night views over the bay and Naples were captivating. |
