Over the last fifteen years the Brussels Jazz Marathon as taken over the European “Capital City” for a long weekend every spring. More than 400 musicians from single artists to international bands perform on the main squares of the city and in every corner of pubs, clubs, restaruants, and hotels. For three days, the street cafés of the central pedestrian zone fill with the crowds of revelers and afficianados enjoying the music which can seem to eminate from all corners of party town.

Brussels Sidewalk Restaurants Jazz Weekend photoThe festival main stage takes over the central city square in front of the iconic town hall, the Grand Place, with music beats and colorful light shows bouncing off the filigreed facades of the glorious old architecture for which the center of Brussels is famed. Light beams turn the old city into a magical wonderland, filled with vibant energy. Other outdoor stages can be found around the city at the Place du Sablon, the Place St Catherine and the Place Fernand Cocq, not to mention the indoor venues from intimate pub to performace hall - 125 concerts all together - and all for FREE.
