Top Festivals / Events

I am interested in finding out what you would consider to be the most important festivals/events which occur annually throughout Europe. As a member of the
trivago
travel community, I wish to ensure that the details of such festivals/events are listed at our website. We also offer
German
,
Spanish
and
French
platforms and thus events in those regions are of particular interest to me. Your assistance and comments would be much appreciated.

I'm not sure if this counts as a 'festival' or 'event', but I think the Christmas markets (Weihnachtsmarkt) of Germany are really special. They usual begin about four weeks before Christmas, and all sorts of decorations, nativity scenes, and delicious german baked goods can be found. It's really a magical atmosphere, if you like the winter season! I think these weihnachtsmarkt also exist in some other European countries, such as France.

See as per my thinking when all the people gather together without having any dispute and hug each other that moment is being celebrated as festival. Well it's an nice thing when all the people celebrate their festival together.
