| Better train passes or single tickets? | |||||
A railpass is not always the most economical option. Divide the railpass price by the number of days that you expect to be travelling by train, to get a price per day. Compare this with typical simple fares. Compare the cost of the pass with the cost of normal tickets. Remember that most railways companies have many independent offers that could fit better your needs. We have a list of the urls that will address you directly to the offers webpage of the main railway websites. Just go to railways offers section. Don't forget that a railpass is more flexible, usually allows you to hop on and off trains spontaneously, saves you time queuing at ticket offices, and may cover additional trips that you didn't expect to make. Even if a railpass is a bit more expensive, it can still be better to buy one. This comparison could be studied if the travel will be short. For long trips or many journeys, there is no doubt about the convenience of a railpass. You can pose your doubts in our forums. |
